@mikeincmn — Not sure what you’ve been watching but Pastornicky is terrible defensively. That’s why he lost the starting gig to Simmons in the first place. If he could field at all he’d be the choice over this Janish guy.

maybe the Reds will get lucky again and this guy will be like the Hoover kid they got earlier. sure the reds sent him down for no apparent reason but he is killing them in the minors to so it is just a matter of time before he finds his way back to the majors. probably not with the reds though,he will be part of the deal that nets the reds another player for dusty to platoon instead of playing every day. in order to do that you have to be fast and able to strike out 3 times a game like the current center fielder they have.

They didnt give up anything and I admit to not having seen much of him when he was playing, but is there really any big difference between Janish and Pastornicky? Both seem all glove, no bat guys.

Zack Cozart made Janish expendable with Cincinnati. Good luck to him in Atlanta.
