I have no qualms reaching for garza/ soriano and giving up reynolds, Matusz and a AA prospect.

If Hammels is hurt, that descent will happen even more quickly. There isn’t much that can go wrong with the knee that can’t be fixed. Worse case scenario, we’ll see him next year. He’s very talented and I expect number results from him in 2013.

The team is finally starting to show signs of life, but they still have a long way to go. As a Nats fan, it was almost a GOOD thing that our team dropped out of contention early the past few years as we spent every trading deadline adding to our young talent base rather than subtracting when we weren’t yet ready to compete.

In going to guess Hammel hits the DL, PA calls the season a wash and refuses to be a buyer in FA. Instead of trying to regain momentum he’ll just let this team fade ala 2005.
