Played little league ball with Shoppach, he’ll wow you occasionally but he only swings for the fences. He has never swung for just contact.

Granted its a rebuilding year, but I think that because Philly is so fucked they should at least try to get a little better. That being said they shouldnt part with anything of value.

Trading some of the farm away when you’re rebuilding is silly. No wonder this organization was so reluctant to rebuild. Fans like you make it impossible.

You can’t really justify “no one expected anything this year” when, halfway through the year, we’re firmly in contention. I don’t think we should trade any upper-echelon prospects, but not making any moves at all is silly.

I don’t see the Mets trading any of their top prospects for a washed up catcher that will be out of the league in a year or two.they have a couple of decent backstops in AAA.!!!!!!!

The Mets shouldn’t trade any prospects whatsoever. It doesn’t make any sense. All this talk of Hernandez, Shoppach, Liriano, etc is utter nonsense. No one expected anything this year anyway. Stay the course.

Perhaps. I think he would cost more than Hernandez, at the very least. Hernandez is all about moving salary.

I don’t think the Red Sox want anything interesting for Shoppach. This all depends on their decision about Lavarnway moving forward. If he is the guy and they want to bring him up to make Salty the backup, then Shoppach gets moved. If they think it’s more wise to leave Lavarnway down until September and have him start next season, then they won’t move Shoppach.
