Stories like that make one think that the Umpiring crew were in bed with the mob at the time (figuring the umps were the the only ones to have enough control over the game to control the outcome). I mean, come on, unless you believe in the supernatural or time travel, the likelihood of this guy predicting that string of outcomes is about as much as someone predicting the Titanic would go down on it’s maiden voyage….

It’s started to go down hill in season 9 (hey, remember when Homer joined the Navy and stopped submarine leak that would have drown them with Bart’s earing? So do I, since banging my head against the well to cause enough brain damage to forget about it hasn’t worked). Season 10 on is completely unwatchable.

X-Files was the best show ever. I’m with you on that. And Clyde Bruckman was one of the top 10 episodes from the nine seasons it was on the air. Peter Boyle was terrific in that role, but the Stupendous Yappi tried to steal the show.
