Ozzie Guillen: “F–k Chicago”

Jul 20, 2012, 8:52 AM EDT

I took this to be more of a slam of the reporter and the question as opposed to the city, but I have a feeling that folks in Chicago won’t take it that way.

  1. CJ - Jul 20, 2012 at 9:00 AM

an entire city? that won’t be easy.

    • hasbeen5 - Jul 20, 2012 at 9:42 AM

Anna Benson might give it a go.

      • Old Gator - Jul 20, 2012 at 12:35 PM

Sounds to me more like Kris is the one to compete, not her. Maybe we could spike the punch a little by making it a tag team with Brian Cashman and Aroldis Chapman, and setting up a seniors tour with Steve Garvey and Fred Willard.

We all know that Ozzie is without a doubt a flagrant idiot. But on the bright side, in this day of management, coaches, even players being for the most part beyond politically correct, it’s refreshing for better or worse hearing what Ozzie has to say. He reminds me of an uncivilized combination of past colorful coaches Weaver, Martin, and Stengel. At least right or wrong (and 99% seems to be wrong) he speaks his mind which is refreshing!

Y’know, Ozzie, when reporters ask clown stuff like that….

  3. charlescub80 - Jul 20, 2012 at 9:12 AM

It’s sad reporters even ask him anything. He said the same thing to Miami when he said he respected Castro. He is like a 2 year old who doesn’t think before he speaks…. I am sorry I just insulted 2 yr olds. I take it back.

  4. proudlycanadian - Jul 20, 2012 at 9:16 AM

Alas poor Ozzie. The only reason he hasn’t been fired so far, is that the team is “Scrooge” McLoria’s.

    • sabatimus - Jul 20, 2012 at 11:00 AM

To think: if this were the NBA, Ozzie’s fine total for this year alone would probably be 7 figures.

  5. sj39 - Jul 20, 2012 at 9:16 AM

What’s the big deal? I’ve felt the same way for years.

  6. nolanwiffle - Jul 20, 2012 at 9:28 AM

Presumably his t-shirt reads “Ozzie Knows…..next to nothing”

  7. whodeytn - Jul 20, 2012 at 9:29 AM

What a clown. He’s managing the Marlins back into the ground where they belong.

  8. chi01town - Jul 20, 2012 at 9:31 AM

CHICAGO IS MY HOME. SO FU&K YOU OZZIE.

  9. sc101071 - Jul 20, 2012 at 9:33 AM

A 30 second ad to watch a 15 second clip. Let me save you other guys the trouble.

“F### Chicago, let’s talk about my ballclub”.

  10. lovistemiami - Jul 20, 2012 at 10:00 AM

    Disclaimer: Number 1 Ozzie apologist.

That said, I kind of agree with the guy – the season’s going down the can, they lose the series to the awful Cubs (and they didn’t even face Garza or Dempster), and you ask the guy about his visit to Chicago? Should’ve asked him about Castro – Starlin Castro. (What an awful joke.. I’m so sorry)

    • MattJanik - Jul 20, 2012 at 12:24 PM

First Law of Journalism: ask a stupid question, get a stupid answer.

      • Old Gator - Jul 20, 2012 at 12:37 PM

It’s the First Law because it’s as irremediable as the Buddha particle that a sports journalist will ask a stupid question.

  11. butchhuskey - Jul 20, 2012 at 10:07 AM

    Stay classy, Ozzie

    • contender123 - Jul 20, 2012 at 1:29 PM

    Stay classy Ozzie!

  13. sandiegan760 - Jul 20, 2012 at 10:48 AM

No, F–K Guillen. Fidel Castro loving, reverse racist, piece of human trash. He runs his mouth not even knowing that many in his community suffered under Castro. This is the dumbest idiot in baseball. Not to mention he was given a ton of talent in Miami and a new stadium. Deport him now.

    • Old Gator - Jul 20, 2012 at 12:11 PM

Only if the 300,000 Macondo residents with the worst driving records are deported along with him.

    • blueyedcharlie - Jul 20, 2012 at 12:59 PM

Who pee’d on your Cheerios this morning?

    • contender123 - Jul 20, 2012 at 1:32 PM

  14. sandiegan760 - Jul 20, 2012 at 10:57 AM

    Suggestions for Ozzie’s T-Shirt:

    Ozzie Knows….Nothing
    Ozzie Knows….Cuba
    Ozzie Knows….Losing
    Ozzie Knows….Communism
    Ozzie Knows….Idiocracy
    Ozzie Knows….S&^%
Ozzie Knows….The gay bar down the street

  15. comeonnowguys - Jul 20, 2012 at 11:23 AM

Right back at you, Ozzie. Hope you enjoy watching the Sox succeed without you.

  16. ultimatehitcoach - Jul 20, 2012 at 1:28 PM

CHICAGO SAYS “F*** YOU TOO!!”.. 8 MILLION TIMES

    “HISTRIONIC PERSONALITY DISORDER”

everyone knows this guy’s an idiot. but did you know there’s a name for his mental condition? look it up.. there’s his photo.this disorder obsessively compels a person to do everything in his power to be the center of attention at all times.. saying or doing whatever it takes.why?

it starts at a young age.. with deep-seated rock bottom feelings of low self-esteem.
the individual compensates by incessantly talking his head off in an attempt to get the listener to like him. sound like someone you know?

the bad news: because this specific person has achieved a high level of professional recognition, he has a constant platform from which to spew his blather. to have a histrionic personality disorder & be afforded the opportunity to be on television every day.. a recipe for disaster. this can only end one way. badly.
