There was no appetite for instant replay … in Mayberry

Jul 20, 2012, 12:02 PM EST

Andy Griffith

Rick Chandler takes us back 46 years to Mayberry, North Carolina. A time and a place where, like major league baseball in 2012, there was no appetite for instant replay of controversial baseball calls.

But hey, even if they covered it all up, at least it was used!

Great episode Craig. Andy was honest though, and it was Opie.

    Andy Griffith, RIP.

Anyone who’s a fan of Tthe Andy Griffith Show owes it to themselves to watch Elia Kazan’s classic “A Face In the Crowd”…you’ll NEVER look at Sheriff Andy Taylor the same way…

…and you’ll know exactly why Keith Olbermann used to refer to Glenn Beck as “Lonesome Rhodes.”

No one cares what Olbermann thinks about anything.

        Figures you’d chime in.

In the same vein, I couldn’t possibly care less about your opinion. You’re basically a right-wing parody at this point.

    Here’s a quote from Selig

When told that many fans would prefer more replay, Selig said: “I’m not sure that’s true. We do a lot of polling. I talk to a lot of fans. I get a lot of mail every day and I answer every piece of mail here. And guess what, guys, I get almost no letters, calls or thoughts on instant replay.

I saw we bombard him with mail!
