I think more is expected of them.. .and they need to produce or their value takes hit. If Cleveland still had them… unless they were just putting up awful numbers….. they would still be considered pretty good prospects… which could be used this season for a bat or two.
I know.. hindsight is…… but you could tell Jimenez was in a decline before the trade occurred. So, yes.. you’re right.. so far it doesn’t sting so much because neither Pomeranz or White has done anything too special… but they could have been used for pieces of other trades.

neither has been very good so the trade seems more a wash than the Indians getting burned. at least Jimenez has somewhat of a track record.

I even wanted the Yankees to make a move for him. I’m grateful that didn’t happen. I think his problems are mostly mechanical. He’s got a sloppy delivery. Really, it’s only injury or mechanics that can so quickly decrease velocity (age isn’t applicable here, IMO). If it was mental (confidence), he’d have the same velocity, but could be wild.
