We can’t seem to avoid running into hot teams, can we? Boston was pretty hot before the Jays got there and it just seems like it’s been happening more than usual this season for some reason.

Who cares? They’ll lose in the first round of the playoffs because they can’t generate any offense unless they hit homeruns. They had an opportunity to win every game of that series- the pitching gave them a chance every time, but they couldn’t move runners along if their lives depended on it. Part of that was the A’s pitching, but part of that is also the A’s pitchers knowing the Yankees are swinging for the fences and pitching them accordingly. Tex was on 2nd base with no outs in the bottom of the 12th with Cano, A-Rod, Ibanez, and Chavez coming up and they could not move him over to third. Couldn’t even move him over one base. That’s the Yankees season in a nutshell. Craig and his minions can make snarky comments and act like any Yankees fan who is concerned is just feels entitled, but the fact that they can’t scratch out wins is just bad baseball. They need to find a speedy outfielder that can steal a base, bunt, and put pressure on pitchers.

This losing streak is a national tragedy and must end ASAP.

The silver lining is that maybe with the trade deadline looming Cashman will get something huge done. Even if it means taking on a huge contract and cutting the player, just to get the piece we are after. The $189M target is for 2014. Gotta win NOW!!!!!
