What makes you think he even threw the pitch in the first place? Darth Vader should have just been able to float the ball through the air using the Force, a la grabbing Han Solo’s pistol away in Empire.

By looking at that picture, he was either throwing a screwball (look at that pronation), or he didn’t even “throw” it- he merely tossed the ball up, then Force-pushed it to home plate. Probably a sure-fire way to throw knucklers, using the Force.
