Why not bring up the Big Power hitting Henry Wrigley from AAA Durham ? I’ve been watching him all year and he’s been completely dominating. Hitting over .450 in July OPS over .1000 Give the kid a shot ! Quit overpaying the has Beens. Alot cheaper too.

Mybrunoblog–right now I’d be happy to have Damon back with the Rays to replace Matsui, what with .231 being .084 higher than what Matsui has put up. In fact, Matsui is making Mario Mendoza look like Edgar Martinez by comparison.

Having a manager as incredibly stubborn and loyal as Maddon has both its ups and downs. On the one hand, you get results like pinch hitting Dan Johnson in the biggest at bat of the season and having it actually work, or somehow keeping his team believing that they could make up a 9.5 game deficit in the final month.

On the other hand, you get him continuing to stick with guys like Matsui, hitting coach Derek Shelton, and refusing to let the them take batting practice despite the hitting being absolutely atrocious. After a while you learn to deal with his methods and be thankful for all the good it brings, but I’d be lying if I said stuff like his insistence on sticking with Matsui doesn’t get extremely frustrating.
