HGH is perfectly legal in baseball with a doctor’s prescription. Same as a cortisone shot. The point is medical need.

Cortisone is an anti-inflammatory and non-anabolic steriod injected into a specific site on the body while HGH stimulates growth and cell reproduction and regeneration and therefore anabolic and “muscle building” that affects the entire body. Cortisone can’t help in performance enhancing and is more just for healing. HGH leaves too many questions on if it would be used (or abused) by players and team doctors to give an advantage while claiming it for the healing process. While many would not, there are some that would probably try to claim that they’re still feeling pain in a certain area.

Iam a Nats fan and a Zim fan, but Iam having a slight problem with MLB on this, the cortisone shot is a synthetic steroid to help in a healing process, so what is wrong with guys taking HGH to help in the healing process? These guys are getting paid alot of money and should be doing whatever it takes to get on the field,and most players would feel the same way.

So, why is a cortisone shot legal?

It is definitely performance enabling….and since most argue that the greatest benefit of anabolic steroids to baseball players is its ability to help them bounce back from workouts and to stay healthier/stronger while going through the grind of 162 game season, the greatest potential benefit of those steroids (especially for hitters) also seems to be the performance enabling aspect.

Well it also helps Michael Morse is back in the lineup. Due to Morses power, and solid hitting, pitches have to throw more the Ryan. I know the shot helped but the combo is whats making him on fire.

Cortisone shots are awesome! I got shots every other week for my hip bursitis while I ran in college and they really work. I’d go from having trouble sleeping at night to running with almost no pain.
