Obviously, he is better suited batting second than seventh. But, there were a myriad of different reasons that created the season he had last year.

That man is accountable. He says it like it is and is completely honest regarding his failings and what makes him a better player.

Rather than actually supporting the team and players and, perhaps, representing that percent of the fanbase, nope. Always rip them a new one.

I don’t want to see any movement in this team. I like what we have and I still believe they have what it takes to turn it around. I’m a fan. Beckett can have some great outings and maybe he’ll just turn it around. Same with Lester. There is cause for concern that Lester could be putting too much pressure on himself.

I know. Cellar-dwellars. But, I still look at the line up and like what I see. Sure, I still miss Youk, but I have to root for my team. And I think they are darn good. I bet we all still like ours.
And if we get Hanley, my gut is already wrenching thinking about who we are giving up. J. Henry & Co. should just throw in the cash. I like my guys.

How about the Boston media can’t handle overpaid, under-performing players and they speak on behalf of all of us when they point out the obvious?

Do your eff’in job, keep your head down, smile once in awhile and you won’t have a problem with the Boston media.

Every team gets lucky. Every team makes mistakes.

I’ve felt that the A’s would be more inclined to move on an incremental upgrade with little or no long term obligation, either at third or short, but most likely short, and also catcher. All three of those are shortage positions, meaning that high OPS players are hard to find. Since the A’s will part with no young pitching, and they’d like to move veteran arms, the list of probable targets is correspondingly small.

Hanley is a .752 player this year, and was a .712 player last year. Maybe he could be again the .853 player he was in 2010. But it’s a new league, new pitchers to learn, etc. It just seems very unlikely for the A’s.

Place the blame for the Red Sox failures where it belongs: on the players.

So the Sox don’t get any blame for giving a long term deal to an inconsistent pitcher (Beckett), or a long term deal to a declining pitcher (Lackey), or making a player who doesn’t hit with a lot of power, or walk at all, the highest paid LF in the game?
