Johnson makes 13.7MIL a year, the bluejays will NOT be interested in trading for this guy, they cant add his payroll so this is NOT true. Same goes for Hanley, he makes 15MIL so he is also off the table.Now Kearns makes 600K, that is a realistic trade for the jays, i think they can take on that pay, i think, lol

I’d buy that for a dollar. Assuming any trade for Johnson would have to come with some pretty significant salary pickup by the Marlins, I think this would be a great deal, even to the extent of say giving up a marginal major leaguer and a mid-level prospect. I could see a Rajai Davis-Deck McGuire sort of swap, albeit only with some pretty massive cash considerations (like, half his salary consideration).

AA has files on every major league player. Just because he has done homework on someone, does not mean that he is working on a trade for that player. He also talks with all GM’s just to see who might or might not be available. He likes 3 way trades in instances when he wants a player such as Rasmus and does not have what the other team wants. After the Halladay trade, the media correctly predicted 0% of his trades.

If Hanley had to fight the demographics of either the state of Florida, or Ontario, I would hope he would choose to not fight Florida fans.

It is true, there are much, much fewer.However, it is a melting pot in Florida. At any point, walking down main street in any Florida city, it is very possible to encounter a Ninja, or a commando, or a revolutionary. Just yesterday, I had lunch with a Krav Maga instructor who had to fight off a Contra in the Publix deli.

Hanster no doubt has had to fend off similiar fans while shopping at Walgreens. A few bankers and day traders he’ll likely encounter in Toronto won’t scare him too bad.

Personally, bankers and day traders scare the shit out of me.

Check out the last track on the Cowboy Junkies’ latest CD, The Wilderness. It’s a rewrite of the Canadian national anthem (theirs is actually singable), entitled “Fuck, I Hate the Cold.” Last weenter was weirdly warm in TO but you only get one like that once a generation or so. Anyway, the parks on the east side of town – the Don Valley, especially – on a normal weenter day could be a pretty rough place to get stuck in a blizzard.

All that notwithstanding, JJ would fit right in with the Feather Lice. Three pitches and sprrroiiinnnnggggg, there goes the UCL like one of Kirstie Allie’s girdle snaps.

As far as Anne Murray, no thanks. We’ll take Ivy Mairie any day but the Canadian Olivia Newton-John is welcome to stay by the visitor’s desk at her museum in Springhill and show tourists her prom dress.

And we don’t want any goddamned poutine, either. But if you want to send along a smoked meat sandwich in the trade…well…that’s OK.

hitt, the sort of fan The Hanster punches, the kind to which I am referring, require electricity (yeah, we gots that up here: the generators run on seal blubber). Throwing then in the drink is not suggested, but I'd back the swimming prowess of our floor fans against an American one any day of the week. Not our ceiling fans though. That would be plain silliness. All forms of our fans would own The Hanster.

The Hanster would do what for The Beav? Beat up fans? Ha! Fans in Canada are tough. Tougher by far than those in Miami, I bet. These are fans that are used to operating in ice-houses, dog sleds, and on seal hunts. Fans that DO NOT QUIT. He’d lose an arm out here. The only infield help the Beaver Men need is at 2nd and a stunt-double for Brett Lawrie. Kelly Johnson may well come out his slump soon: he’s showing signs of it, but even if he isn’t, the Hanster is not a 2nd baseman and barely hits more than Johnson anyways. Also HanRam hasn’t exactly got a history of durability, so being Lawries’s stunt-double isn’t likely, now is it? It’s inconceivable to me that AA is interested in The Hanster.

As for JJ…SOLD! Have him scrubbed, wrapped in bubble plastic and shipped IMMEDIATELY! We’ll let you have Celine Dion, Justin Bieber, Anne Murry’s unsold vinyl, and Rita McNiel’s weight in Molson Canadian. Get a move on, Miami! The Beav’s starting rotation has more holes than Brett Lawrie’s uniform by the 3rd inning.

AA has stated many times that when the Jays are mentioned in a trade rumor, it is very unlikely to happen. Any sources that Morosi may have, do not work for the Blue Jays. They probably do not work for Miami either.
