The problem I had with Wedge when he was the Indians manager is he was way too even keeled. We don’t know what it was like in the locker room, of course, but Wedge loved to change his lineup, fo no rhyme or reason, and if you’re in his doghouse, you have no chance of getting out.

Half this team should be sent down, Figgins, Ryan, Ackley, and Smoak finally was….. how this team isn’t worse than the Rockies is beyond me. And get rid of Guti already, he is hurt all the time.

The Royals are getting ready to start another series with the Mariners, so I’m sure Seattle’s offense will get back on track for at least those games.
Nothing quite like facing Royals pitching to make players feel better about themselves at least for a few games. Now if only the Royals batters could face the pitching staff to build up their confidence.

The Mariners are a AAA team mascarading as major league team and have been for the last 3 or 4 years. Probably will be for 3 or 4 more….. Look at where payroll was and where it is now. Best bet is to sell the team. Fire the incompetent jacka$$ at the top: Lincoln and Armstrong, (who know NOTHING about baseball talent they keep dabbling in).The Mariners won’t be anything till they are gone! I’ll give Jack Z a pass for another couple years because Bavasi and the two afore mentioned idiots drained every last piece of talent from the minors. That just takes time to replace – proof being rushing Ackley, Smoak, Ryan, Saunders, Montero, and almost every other young player to the majors as a stop gaps “wrecking confidence” like the writer above points out.

It’s hard to tell about Wedge as a manager because he has almost nothing to work with. Besides sending out Felix every five games – a no-brainer of course – every decision he makes is just stirring the pot of crap. The GM has not lived up to his reputation as a judge of talent and the ownership seems interested only in avoiding any capital calls. Wedge says all the cliches but has been almost too calm about the second year of disaster he is leading.

i bet if the jays traded their entire minor league system to the M’s and didnt tell anyone about the trade. Nobody would even notice cause they all stink once they get called up to the big big show

First off the GM is not a very smart Baseball guy, Jack Z, is in way over his head and everyone thinks he is such a smart guy. Bull Crap – get rid of him, relax the oversight that the Japanese ownership has on the organization and run this team like an American Baseball club. They fired the hitting coach because no one could hit, run Kotchman off and he goes to Tampa (yeah I know it is also home) and hits over .300 and is a runnerup Gold Glove first baseman. They kept Smoak instead and you see how that turned out. Jack Z, at his finest. They let Suzuki go and get nothing in return (I know there is a lot to this) but now that the beloved Japanese star is gone you have a chance to assemble a decent club if the focus is on Baseball. I have a few buddies like you who love the Mariners and it will take an organization overhaul for anything to improve.

Can you do me a favor? Is there any way you can offer ANY advice for what the Mariners should do to get on the right track? This has been my team since I was a kid, but right now, it seems I can’t come to any conclusions on a winning strategy… What’s your opinion?
