Matt: Listen…I am very happy to see the Pirates playing well. The 1st half of last season was a great sign of things to come. They have struggled for far too long and their fanbase deserves it. Additionally, the Pirates playing well only helps the NL Central.

A few years ago he might have actually been playing in front of larger crowds here in Indy, but not now. I’m a Cubs fan, and the atmosphere at PNC over the last 3 days during the Cubs series looked great. Pitt is a great baseball town, the team just needs to win a little. Losing every season for 20 years would wear on even the most loyal fan base.

Pirates are done with moves. It’s Wandy R not Cliff L. And Marte is their “bat” instead of Upton or some other overrated overpaid veteran. This is a risky move, but not as risky long term as picking up a veteran for 2 months that will then be gone the minute their season ends.
