To the last comment, i moved to sfl twenty years ago and gradually became a Marlins fan, what they did in 03 was one of the greatest David vs Goliath stories in baseball history. So they go from a football stadium where it was 100 degrees outside and when it rained you had to wait for the two hour rain delay BC they never called any game, the food was garbage and the venue made every nights crowd look like a triple a game. Now we have to drive 20 minutes further to watch a game in a beautiful state of the art stadium with great food, entertainment, all the seats in the house on top of the field, air conditioning, and your complaining? if you were a real fan you would you would support them and keep your mouth shut! 2 world series in 20 years given the market we have down here, i think they have a handle on things. Ozzie is world class, a man who speaks his mind and has eared the right to say whatever he likes because he’s earned that right. You have lost your rights as a Marlins fan so go become a braves fan loser!

Now he’s LA’s problem. Case in point: last night’s triple, which should have been an ITPHR (or 4-base error to be truthful, it was an awful play by CF Jay). Ramirez made a shuffling trot toward first, didn’t start running till he was nearly halfway to 2nd. Ball goes off the wall and rebounds halfway to the infield. Had he been running out of the box he would have scored standing up.

OK, the guy behind him picked him up with a SF. But Mattingly or maybe Kemp or Ethier will have to get in this kid’s face when no reporters are around and tell him: we don’t play like that, not here. Get used to it.

I agree with liamj55. Greg Dobbs is a solid veteran presense in that clubhouse, and young, lazy, entitled players like Hanley would definitely rub him the wrong way.

It started even before that though. Keith Law said on a podcast the other day that Hanley looked lazy and bored when he scouted him in AA. I could never imagine how someone playing a professional sport wouldn’t want it to go REALLY well. These media narratives can get out of control, we’ve heard Robbie Cano, Matt Kemp, Justin Upton et. al accused of not caring, but this one seems to actually be true. Makes his trade to the Dodgers a lot easier to swallow for Marlins fans I’d think.

Why not, he saw Selig’s family buy the Brewers cheap, offer to shift to the NL if they got an All-Star Game, then convinced the taxpayers they needed a new stadium for said All-Star Game and finally sold the team at a huge profit, because of the pretty new stadium.

you also have to take into account how long Ozzie has been with the team, some players have had to deal with Hanley for longer and hence have more history to get over.
