While I appreciate your point that the team is garbage (thanks, Dan O’Dowd), I’m reminded that Ernie Banks, Ted Williams, Ken Griffey Jr., Barry Bonds*, Andre Dawson, Billy Williams, Early Wynn, Craig Biggio, Robin Roberts, Ralph Kiner, Nellie Fox, Fergie Jenkins, George Sisler, Robin Yount, Harmon Killebrew, Rod Carew, Tony Gwynn, Carl Yasztremski, Willie McCovey, Ty Cobb, Gaylor Perry and Don Mattingly all had Hall-of-Fame careers and none won a World Series.

Bite me, pftallday. If you go by that standard, we (perhaps fortunately) won’t have to read any news about anyone from Boston (or any other team in the AL East besides the Yankees), KC, Minnesota, Seattle, the Mets, the Marlins and the Phillies, the Brewers, the Cubs and the Astros, and the Padres. By my take, those include teams that a lot has been written about.

Tulo is a perennial all-star routinely capable of the spectacular, and watching him play is a reason to go to the ballpark, whether the team is relevant or not. (And yeah, I’ll concede that they’re not relevant.)

With this logic, the Rockies shouldn’t ever play him…the team is garbage and won’t ever compete.

While the Rockies have still been losing games left and right, the two players filling in for Tulo, Rutledge and Colvin, have been tearing it up all over. If this is what comes of Tulo’s injury, it’s not so bad…
