First of all, I don’t think that anyone with a trailer park level handle like yours has much of a right to go around calling out another correspondent’s “class.”

Second of all, flippant or not, Greinke folded when the pressure was on in the playoffs, didn’t he? Any other pitcher with a history of being unable to “win the big one.” or for that matter any other ballplayer at any position who implodes of underperforms when the chips are down, is out there in the arena of their own free will, regardless of why they can’t rise to an occasion, and the criticism is par for the course. If they don’t want it, they can stay out of the spotlight and play fantasy baseball.

Yeah…Greinke has shown some psychological cracks in his armor already this season with his overreaction to giving up runs. Reminds me of how Jared Weaver has acted on occasion too. Maybe those two nut jobs will get along…or maybe they’ll feed off each other in a bad way. Who knows. But the Angels are definitely a larger market team that may spark some of the anxiety issues…then again maybe he can hold it together for 2-3 months and hit the FA market.

What’s wrong about that observation? Greinke himself has admitted he has anxiety issues with pressure and doesn’t want to pitch in a major market. He wilted bigtime in the playoffs last season. He was even on the DL with it for a while. Perfectly legitimate observation on Randy’s part.

Fair enough… what I meant was that the Marlins have more pull now to ask for a crazy amount, since the Rangers lost out on Grienke to their direct rival. Not that the Rangers should meet their demands, but the Marlins’ position improved nonetheless.

We were hearing all day yesterday on local spawrts tork raydeeo that JJ wouldn’t be moved until the orfseaon, if at all, or unless the Feesh were really knocked out (“blown away” is the term I kept hearing but if you live in hurricane country you try not to use that metaphor during the summer or fall). I really wish the Feesh would concentrate on getting rid of Krazy Karlos and/or Reeky Nolasco instead.

But if the Angels panic over Greinke and cough up some really good-looking offensive players, well hell, JJ is just another accident waiting to happen anyway.

Morosi is still reporting that the Jays are interested in Johnson. Since the Jays will not give the time of day to any rumor mongers, if Morosi has a source, it is in Miami. Miami may be trying to get some team to pay their price by claiming that other teams are interested in Johnson.
