Some pitchers go on the DL with dead arm and bounce back. Elbow stiffness/soreness is entirely different and has been a particularly ominous sign this year. It seems like every pitcher with those symptoms this year has been forced to have TJ surgery.

I want to know what percentage of pitchers that go on the DL for arm problems actually come back without having surgery? It can’t be very high.

Terrible idea to try and make this kid into a starter…He was great out of the bullpen and now of course he’s having problems stretching it out and trying to pitch as a starter the same way he did as the closer….The Yankees did the same thing with Joba unfortunately and he’s only just now getting his arm right again

Good point Jim, but Feliz has been in the buulpen most of his professional life. The fact that he realy only throws one pitch..(a 95 + fastball) may have something more to do with it than innings pitched.
