Blue Jays, Giants are interested in Justin Morneau

Jon Heyman says that the Blue Jays and Giants have expressed interest in Justin Morneau. Add this to that Dodgers speculation from last week.

And as we said last week, Morneau, sadly, is not what he used to be. He’s effective against righties and would be an upgrade for the teams who are seeking him, however, so a trade could definitely happen.  It just wouldn’t be the “OMG superstar!” trade feelings that his name still invokes.

Morenau is hitting .260/.322/.457 with 13 homers, but almost all of that damage has come against righties.

I think he just wants to see Justin in a Jays uni and can’t control his excitement.

Happy me with the thought of Morneau, Victorino, Headley, and upgrades at closer, fourth starter, and bench……………………………………all for some bobbleheads……………………….and then take me away………….

He did change the wording from “happy” to “happen”.

Heyman is not the most accurate prognosticator when it comes to the Jays, however Morneau is a Canadian and Lind has just gone on the DL, so it is possible.

    Make the trade jays

Toronto would be wise to wait until Morneau becomes a free agent after next season and then possibly look at making him a offer to finish his career as the other bookend of Canadian corner infielders.

Whats with the blue jays wanting twins Canadian born corner infielders with concussion issues? Worked so well with Corey koskie. Lol
