Cliff Lee’s odds of going to Rangers? “Less than 1 percent”

T.R. Sullivan of is pumping the breaks on the Cliff Lee-to-the-Rangers talk, reporting that the odds of Philadelphia trading the left-hander to Texas are “less than one percent.”

Sullivan cites an unnamed “industry source” for that assessment, but generally speaking he’s very plugged into the Rangers.

This morning rumors started swirling that the Phillies were making Lee available in trade talks to free themselves of the $87.5 million he’s owed for the next three seasons.

Actually, it’s more like 3.7% percent. 1 team / divided by 27 teams (gotta leave the Phillies out) teams = 3.5%.

Who else ya leaving out? Wouldn’t it be 1/29?

How do I edit my post?

        You don’t

Actually, it’s more like 12.5%. Cliff has and I’m certain would exercise a 21 team no trade clause in his contract. If we’re being pithy.

    So you’re saying there’s a chance.

The first time I set eyes on Mary Swanson, I just got that old fashioned romantic feeling where I’d do anything to bone her.

I dunno if I want my Rangers to pick up Cliff Lee for 3 years at 87.5mil! That’s WAY MORE than he’s worth. Let Philly stew in their own mistakes.

Rangers fans, he has the same deal your club offered to him. Let’s not use his salary as a reason you would not want him.

The Rangers need someone. Oswalt is not the answer. Oswalt gave up 8 earned runs over 5.3 innings tonight.
