Hunter Pence bobblehead day: still on for August 21 at Citizens Bank Park

Jul 31, 2012, 4:00 PM EDT

The best laid plans of mice and men:

I don’t think anyone cares, do they? People love their bobbleheads, even if the player is gone. And given how crappy the Phillies should be by then, at least it will give people a reason to go to the ballpark.

    Pence being traded won’t stop a 30 something year old from knocking over a child to get one of them. (resisting the urge to include “especially in Philly” in comment…..)

      Unfortunately you succumbed…

      • theawesomersfranchise - Jul 31, 2012 at 4:58 PM

        I just got it out of the way before someone else did

        True.

      Now we need a Chalie Manuel bobblehead night !

    Here’s an idea, line the outfield with the Pence bobbleheads. Their defense couldn’t possibly be worse then Pence’s and they may do better with risp.

    Well, well, well……..oh Phillies fans, good to see you all back in the land of futility where you have toiled for so many years, decades, what have you…..have fun waiting years while your team gets even older and your non-existent farm system produces nothing to help, its been great watching you guys get to be winners for a minute, but now you must go back to your whole, enjoy it

    • ncp2 - Jul 31, 2012 at 4:19 PM

      @theawesomersfranchise, you’re an idiot
      @kcrockett1, we would like to go back to our wholes, but some are less fortunate and only have halves and quarters.

      must be a mets or braves fan…you must be talking about our over 10000 losses.yaaaawwwwn,since we are one of the oldest franchises.we will be back on top sooner than later,injuries put us in a hole.its nice to be in the back of the pack for a change.all you jealous other team fans can talk your smack for a bit.sorta got tired of reading all you sissies cry everynight the phillies would sweep your team for the past 6 years.lol..i must say this is a nice change of pace.We will be back on top,as the one hit wonder expos(oh sorry nationals)get a little taste of winning,oh did us older teams beat the nats 8-zip last night.with a depleted team?…smh……no need to fret we will be back on top…….

      Wow. You should pipe down there. Sounds like you are bitter against Philly for some reason. You did win it all in 2010, right? You should probably be flexing your special spelling and hatred towards the Dodgers right now. Save your banter for a town that gives a shit about your second rate opinion.

    I bought 4 lower level tickets at face value from a season ticket holder for $180 total. I then turned around and made a quick $120 profit selling all 4 for $300 the following week because this game was in such demand. The team blows and Pence isn’t even there on HIS night….lol.

    They were originally going to scrap it and change it to a Polanco Bobblehead day instead, but they were afraid of the injuries they could cause.

  6. kcrockett1 - Jul 31, 2012 at 4:27 PM

    @ncp2 touche

  7. unlost1 - Jul 31, 2012 at 4:56 PM

    all of Philly will throw them on the field. ( I accept no liability for this posting)

    Let the Phillies take their cue from the Mariners, re: bobblehead day. This year Manager Eric Wedge sat Dustin Ackley on the bench on his (Ackley’s; has a manager ever had one?) bobblehead day, and later remearked that he 1) didn’t know about it, and 2) was surprised he hadn’t heard from “upstairs” about it yet.

  9. blabidibla - Jul 31, 2012 at 5:19 PM

    Crap, I thought the Giants traded for the bobble heads in the deal. They can hit better than half our bench.

  10. phillyphan83 - Jul 31, 2012 at 6:33 PM

    this is stupid, you know they’re gonna change the promotion by game day.

  11. wetmorepsu12 - Jul 31, 2012 at 6:34 PM

    i remember years ago the phillies were doing a promotional giveaway with scott rolen tshirt’s and he went to francona to take him out of the lineup that day.
