Seems like there's been more pitchers leaving games early with injuries than I can remember in recent history and not just Jays pitchers either.

When I saw Jesse Chavez with his 8.85 ERA coming in when the game was tied (9th or 10th inning, can't remember) I nearly shat myself. The fact this stiff was even recalled is a sign of how dire things have become. And yeah, Sierra was a little adventurous out there on the bases.

Scary. Mix-a-Lot's velocity was down to 84 on his FB in the 2nd. The Blue Jays were way out in front, but would only have been a matter of a hitter or two before they would have realized those weren't change-ups he was throwing. Let's hope rest is all he needs.

Griffin's injury did not lose the game for Oakland. Their pen pitched well until the 9th when Cook gave up Toronto's first run of the game. Blevins then gave up 2 runs in the top of the 11th. For Toronto, Cooper tied the game with a homer and Encarnacion won the game with his base running. Rookie Moises Sierra went 3 for 5 for Toronto, but made a base running blunder in the second inning that cost Toronto an early run.

With the number of times Blue Jay pitchers this year have had to exit games early with injuries, I certainly hope this phenomenon of pitchers going down is not contagious and starting to effect the teams opposing Toronto.
