In no way do I believe Chapman intentionally hit McCutcheon. 3 runs is NOT a given in the ninth! Reds were without Votto, Phillips, and Bruce, and you think he is gonna risk that deliberately? And as for the front somersault, I loved it! This Guy has a ton of pressure on him and was just not pitching well......and the relief when he pitched well and got that save had to be overwhelming. Loved seeing the humanity!

Chapman is a moron idiot who turns flips in front of the mound like a 3rd grader when he gets a save. Yes I do believe he and his simpleton manager would have the mentality, or lack thereof, to care about a busted hitless streak from a month ago.

the pirates and their fans need to realize it was a pitch that got away from him and nothing more. what message would he sending by putting a runner on base in a tight game in the 9th? in case you did not know his money pitch is a high fastball that nobody can hit. sometimes it goes high.heres a hint to avoid it,try not crowding the plate and it might be easier to get out of the way when it does come in like that. I am pretty sure with the reds winning and and the way he has been dominating hitters the last month the last thing on his mind was a streak that ended a month a go. part of the reason he went into that little funk then was his lack of control. I am sure it hurt when it hit him but to think he did it on purpose is just stupid. but by all means go ahead and retaliate tonite and preferably in the first inning, that way it will make the reds chances of winning much easier when they throw your starter out. face it even if you win the next 2 games you will still be in second place.

All-Star Ryan Cook continues his regression to the expected, but this time in woeful fashion as he gives up a 3-run bomb to Jeff Mathis (.239/.276/.477). If Mathis hits it, he'll hit it hard, and after looking silly against Straily, he hit one into the thick of the heavy air to tie the game. What distinguishes this year's A's is that they went on to win the game after a Weeks' lead-off triple in the 15th. Straily had enough nervous energy to light up the Mausoleum last night, understandable, but like the other young A's pitchers this year, he showed composure enough to go six strong. He won't be striking out 11.66/9 in the majors, he doesn't have that kind of stuff, but he does have 4 good pitches. He looks very solid.

One 'Net commentator suggested that McDonald will go after the Reds' best player by throwing at Votto in the dugout. lol

They need to win games, which should be hard enough against a superior team, not worry about petty grudges. This is a team scoring runs with smoke and mirrors; they have 2 guys on the roster with more than 150 PAs and a OBP over .306 (Alverez is at .306 and the only other guy with an OBP over .300).

The event on the field after the Reds game was pretty cool. Marty and the Reds raised 50k for charity and when it was all said and done, Marty took his Reds jersey off to reveal a shirt that says "I'm Still Me", in support of cancer stricken children (some of whom were guests on the field) who have lost their hair due to sickness/treatment.

It was a nice, fun event that has given this Reds fan a "this is a special season" feeling.
