Jeff Loria is angry

Aug 7, 2012, 12:02 PM EDT

Jeffrey Loria

With the Marlins season of high hopes having fizzled, Jeff Loria is angry. And he’s looking for someone to blame:

“I think it’s going to be an interesting October, a little different than the October we envisioned,’’ team president David Samson said.

“Jeffrey is going to look at everything from me to Larry (Beinfest, baseball operations president) to Mike (Hill, general manager) to Ozzie (Guillen, manager) to (equipment manager) JohnSilverman. He’s angry and he should be.’’

Of course, depending on who you believe, letting Hanley Ramirez become a problem and paying $27 million for Heath Bell were Loria’s decisions, so perhaps he needs to look in the mirror too.

“Mirror, mirror upon the wall, Who is…”

Look at that expression on his face! I bet he thought he was only going to fart….

    Jeff Loria is a tool

    • angrycorgi - Aug 7, 2012 at 12:49 PM

Remember him shamelessly dragging Ali’s broken body out for the first pitch on opening day? Seemed like a tool then too…not much has changed.

  3. brewcrewfan54 - Aug 7, 2012 at 12:21 PM

If he’s actually angry its just because he’s not making as much money as he was when he was putting minor leaguers out on the field. Wins have nothing to do with it.

    • kkolchak - Aug 7, 2012 at 12:32 PM

Bingo…since when has Loria ever cared about anything but how much money he can squeeze out of his team and the taxpayers? This guy is the bottom of the barrel as sports owners go.

      • paperlions - Aug 7, 2012 at 1:11 PM

…which is really saying something, considering how low owners set the bar….bottom of the barrel is about the average MLB owner….to be even below that is an achievement.

What is on his forehead? Was it ash wednesday when that was taken?

    • papalurchdxb - Aug 7, 2012 at 12:27 PM

it’s a bruise from repeatedly smacking his hand into his forehead at all the successful decisions he’s made and continues to make with the Marlins.

I’m going with stretch marks from Swell-Headed Syndrome. Look at the size of that boy’s heed. I’m not kidding, it’s like an orange on a toothpick. Well, that’s a huge noggin. That’s a virtual planetoid. Has it’s own weather system. HEAD! MOVE!

    • angrycorgi - Aug 7, 2012 at 12:47 PM

I can just make out three #s on his forehead…6, 6, and 6…is that what you mean?

    • mybrunoblog - Aug 7, 2012 at 12:58 PM

No Ash Wednesday in Jewish religion bro.

      • deathmonkey41 - Aug 7, 2012 at 1:59 PM

Maybe he traded his religion too?

Yep- I think you might be right. Didn’t see the earpieces before.

  5. Bryz - Aug 7, 2012 at 12:40 PM

Jeffrey Loria is angry…. that Drew Hutchison needs Tommy John surgery.

At least his eyes glancing over to that post is why I assume that’s what he’s angry about.

    • Bryz - Aug 7, 2012 at 12:51 PM

Wow, I sure worded that last sentence poorly. Change it to…

At least his eyes glancing over to that post is why I assume he’s angry.

  6. bigleagues - Aug 7, 2012 at 12:41 PM

Perhaps ol’ Jefe is upset that Larry and David traded away his two favorite players.

  7. Tick - Aug 7, 2012 at 12:42 PM

I love Jeff Loria. As an A’s fan, he’s the only thing makes me feel better about Lew Wolff.

  8. angrycorgi - Aug 7, 2012 at 12:43 PM

First he should fire whoever decided to spend $2.5M on that hideous eyesore in left-center-field…oh wait…DOH!

    • Old Gator - Aug 7, 2012 at 9:06 PM

      Leave Tommy alone!

  9. heyblueyoustink - Aug 7, 2012 at 12:46 PM

The equipment manager? Really? What, do they have hot tubs without hot water and travel in a beat up bus or something?

  10. paulhargis53 - Aug 7, 2012 at 12:46 PM

It’s a well known fact Sunny Jim that the world is controlled by a guild, known as thePentavirit. It’s the Gettys, the,Rothchlids the,Queen and Col. Sanders.

Ooooh, the Colnel, with his wee beady eyes, who puts a secret ingredient in it to make you crave it fortnightly!!

Sorry, probably butchered it. Done from memory…lol

Loria has overtaken Wilpon as most douchebag owner in baseball. He made the bed and now he doesnt want to sleep in it.

    • deathmonkey41 - Aug 7, 2012 at 5:44 PM

John Henry has thrown his hat in that ring also.

  12. SmackSaw - Aug 7, 2012 at 1:26 PM

He squandered his taxpayer gift of a new stadium and failed dreadfully this season. Everyone can draw a list of why the Marlins season went splat. Every list should start here: Loria. Failed. Dreadfully. His baseball people have started sorting the mess with a series of trades pointed to tomorrow. But it’s only a start. Nothing is cleaned up. And it means little if Loria doesn’t stay out of the way. … The owner is a meddler of the highest order. On some level, it’s his team, his money and he can do whatever he pleases. But the way he’s running it the organization looks like a complete disorganization.

  13. keithbangedyermom - Aug 7, 2012 at 1:39 PM

Whatever. They could have a 250M payroll and the fans still wouldn’t show up. They need to relocate.

    • kkolchak - Aug 7, 2012 at 2:45 PM

Right after building a brand new taxpayer-funded stadium? I’m sure THAT would go down well.

  14. iranuke - Aug 7, 2012 at 2:19 PM

If Loria wants to improve the Marlins, he needs to sell the team.

  15. willclarkgameface - Aug 7, 2012 at 3:13 PM

Loria IS a fucking tool. I hate the Marlins. Have hated them since they came into the league, but this new ballpark, the new team colors, the ridiculous signings last winter, and them getting everyone thinking they are a legitimate contender pisses me off.

They have 2 titles. That makes me nauseous. Florida baseball SUCKS.

    • chill1184 - Aug 7, 2012 at 6:12 PM

The Rays are pretty good IMO

  16. deathmonkey41 - Aug 7, 2012 at 5:42 PM

Did Loria have Old Gator whacked or something? How has he not commented on this thread?

    • Old Gator - Aug 7, 2012 at 7:22 PM

You keep looking down at the floor. Look up at the sky.
