MLB unveils the 2013 All-Star Game logo

Aug 7, 2012, 4:00 PM EDT

I know a ton of you aren’t interested in this, but I have to post about it because when I upload pictures like this, WordPress saves them for me. Since I’ll be using it a lot next summer, it’ll be nice to have around. Anyway:

There were a lot of little speeches and photo op things at the unveiling a few minutes ago. But none tops this:

“Major League Baseball hit a home run when they chose to hold the 2013 All-Star Game in New York City,” said Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg.

Some speech writer makes a salary coming up with stuff like that.

Weren’t the Mets selling t-shirts with this design on it weeks ago?

  2. sdelmonte - Aug 7, 2012 at 4:13 PM

I like it. It is classic Mets design.

I would like to take this opportunity to mock the Phillies, since Craig seems to have forgotten to.

      Craig, your an idiot.

2 Things I’ve learned from this series:
        Grammatical Errors = Thumbs Down
And Craig mocks Phillies fans as he sees fit, I’m thinking he has an equation in which he evaluates an opportunity to mock based on amount of Phillies fans that will read it and the rage generated.

In the Internet world of made up words, acronyms and abbreviations, who cares if someone writes “your” or “you’re”?

And David Wright will be starting next year. Pablo can be the fry guy at Shake Shack and come pinch hit late in the game.

  4. jeffharwell3 - Aug 7, 2012 at 5:11 PM

or Pablo can be the top vote getter again because he is better than wright.. dont hate east coaster

    • bennyandthemets - Aug 7, 2012 at 5:29 PM

Sandoval is better than Wright? Can I get some of the crack you’re smoking?

      • keithbangedyermom - Aug 7, 2012 at 6:28 PM

Don’t worry SF fans. You won’t have any starters next year. Were gonna stuff the ballot faster than Pablo stuffs himself at Dunkin Donuts.

There’s no comparison, mostly because Panda is becoming so immobile, he’s going to end up at first base.

Hey mayor bloomberg isn’t there a 24oz soda out there you need to confiscate. Or a salt shaker on some table in a restaurant. Idiot

  6. deathmonkey41 - Aug 7, 2012 at 5:56 PM

    What Bloomberg should have said:

“It will be nice to finally watch a team play professional level baseball at Citi Field!”

    Will NY boo Cano? Wait…Nevermnd.

Captain Cliche, Mayoral Speech Writer strikes again!

That statement is not nearly as recycled as the one he served up for Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest back in June.

Even Hizzoner had a hard time digesting that one as evidenced by his slightly off mic ad lib “who wrote this shit?” which can be heard around the 2:45 mark.
