He is still enormously popular with the Houston fanbase (as it is these days). I don’t know what he will plan to do. But I’m sure they can find something useful. He’s great at community type stuff.

Yeah, I thought he would have one more great year. But there is nothing wrong with what you say. But they are still better off than they would be with Albert on the payroll. Lance will be gone next year and they can come up with another option.

But not quite as sore as DeWitt and Hanser's asses for having paid him 50% more than last season to do 100% less. Huh? Ohhhhh yeahhhhh! Contract insurance . . . they should be so lucky to have it on a 36-year-old with no knees. And that's why it's nice have The Wrench on hand to fix all your leaky positional plumbing needs like a BOSS! .934 OPS, .151 OPS+ Not blaming Berkman. Injuries happen . . . especially to his knees. But really, let's be honest - in the wake of Pujols exit, the Cards had no choice but to sign Puma to appease an already devastated fanbase . . . but on a strictly baseball level? $12 million for a 36-year-old power hitting OF/1B with no knees left is kind of silly - great 2011 year and all.

I don’t see him playing again after this year. However, since Houston is in rebuilding mode in the move to the AL, I could see Berkman becoming a hitting coach.

Cardinals were very lucky that he stayed healthy all last season. Just like how they’re lucky that Beltran has been healthy all this year.

Bummer. In his baseball prime, the man was a terror. Doesn’t sound like he will awaken a lot of interest next season. Come on back when you are ready, Lance. Houston is bound to have one more personal services contract available for a really classy player.
