Paul Konerko missed yesterday’s game. Originally Robin Ventura said it was due to general soreness. After the game, though, the story was different:

Afterward, Ventura said Konerko had a mild concussion and needs further evaluation on Friday. Ventura didn’t dismiss the possibility for Konerko to go on the seven-day DL.

Konerko is hitting .316/.388/.504 with 18 homers this season. Obviously the sooner he’s back the better.

Just to clarify: the photo with the black eye is from May. The photo doesn’t have anything to do with Konerko’s current concussion as far as we know.

Here’s to hoping for a speedy recovery & no lingering effects for Konerko like what plagued Justin Morneau. (that was rough to type being a Tigers fan, but I can’t wish ill upon the guy)
