Alex Rodriguez trying to sell his Miami home for $38 million

Eleven months ago Alex Rodriguez completed construction on a mansion in Miami that cost the Yankees third baseman a reported $24 million, but now TMZ reports that he’s trying to sell the place … for $38 million.

Some details on the property:

The 9-bedroom, 11-bath beachfront estate … offers 275 ft. of water frontage, a home theater, a heated pool, gym, rooftop deck, an elevator and a 3,000 square-foot sports room complete with a batting cage.

Rodriguez has earned more than $300 million during his MLB career and is still owed another $114 million by the Yankees through 2017. And if he can buy a place for $24 million and sell it for $38 million a year later maybe A-Rod ought to think about going into real estate full time once he retires.

That looks like a place right out of “Miami Vice”, only bigger.

looks like an office building, sell it to an insurance company other than ball players they have all the money.

I lived in Fort Lauderdale, it’s much bigger than Micheal Mann’s( the creator of Miami Vice) house there, like 3X bigger.A-rod is a clown, he still doesn’t have a clue that America has had a recession since 2008. Bubble head, embarrassing for a Yankee fan like me. Ship his butt to Boston.

Personally, I’d rather have a firepole than an elevator.

    • seeinred87 - Aug 13, 2012 at 11:50 AM

      I’ll take both, please.

Leave ARod alone, unless you’re bringing offers.

    • cur68 - Aug 13, 2012 at 12:23 PM

      there it is

  4. Detroit Michael - Aug 13, 2012 at 11:57 AM

Perhaps A-Rod will throw in the centaur artwork at no extra charge.

Why on earth would he want to move out of there after 11 months? Or, ever?

  6. kiwicricket - Aug 13, 2012 at 12:02 PM

Does it come with the commissioned ARod Minotaur paintings, or are they extra?

    • sabathiawouldbegoodattheeighthtoo - Aug 13, 2012 at 12:34 PM

You can have the minotaur, but he is taking the mirrors with him. He likes the way they kiss back.

Ah, pro athletes. Proving money doesn’t give you class, just a lot of hookers and blow. I’m looking at you Cowboys.

  8. p1nick - Aug 13, 2012 at 12:10 PM

Too bad it smells like farts

  9. royhobbs39 - Aug 13, 2012 at 12:12 PM

“It’s a lovely house. But apparently it is not big enough

    …to fit his ego!” (rimshot…groans)

“Thank you. Tip your wait staff.”

24 mil to 38 mil in 12 months?

It seems like Miami real estate is on steroids, just like….

    • Old Gator - Aug 13, 2012 at 12:51 PM

Why would you buy that place for 38 million when you already know you could build it for 24? Sorry, not interested. I’ll build my own.

    • mrwillie - Aug 13, 2012 at 1:39 PM

A-Rod is skilled at artificially inflating numbers. They have it listed as $38 million*.

    • badintent - Aug 14, 2012 at 2:34 AM

Nice one, you are funny man, move over Letterman !!

  11. stabonerichard - Aug 13, 2012 at 1:04 PM

Look at those dingy little homes across from ARod’s place. Talk about embarrassing.

    • sabathiawouldbegoodattheeighthtoo - Aug 13, 2012 at 1:09 PM

I think that’s a super WalMart. It only looks small by comparison…

  12. jebjja - Aug 13, 2012 at 2:02 PM

He has eleven bathrooms…..been there eleven months. He graced each toilet each month with his golden shit, now he wants his $14,000,000 profit people!

  13. baccards - Aug 13, 2012 at 2:37 PM

I volunteer to house-sit while it’s on the market

  14. throughthewickets - Aug 13, 2012 at 2:57 PM

    His ego required more room.

  15. richieranger - Aug 13, 2012 at 4:05 PM

Looks like a house on steroids.

  16. rcp27 - Aug 13, 2012 at 9:35 PM

Ridiculous! It’s bigger than rhode island!

  17. badintent - Aug 14, 2012 at 2:37 AM

The real reason he’s splitting town ? The Cuban hookers won’t give him no more credit on his hookups. He’s asking 38 million in Greek dollars.
