NL pitching bad you say? i seem to remember all those big scary AL bats getting shut out not too far back in the all star game. i know, all star game results should be taken with a grain of salt. but, given the recent success NL pitchers have had against AL hitters in the series, i wouldn't say they're at a disadvantage. that being said, this was likely still not a good trade on the Tiger's part. gaining a solid full time second baseman was good, but Sanchez isn't a good enough pitcher that you can justify giving up the organization's top pitching prospect to get a loaner pitcher who is not on Doug Fister's level.

Another reason for American League teams to avoid trading for National League pitchers. The Ryan Dumpster, Roy Oswalts and the Anabal Sanchez of the National League never do well. Now there are a couple of exceptions to that rule. Especially if he's named Carsten Charles "CC" Sabathia.

Paging Mr. Oswalt. Would you please pick up the bullpen phone. We have a call fro you from a Mr. Ronald Washington.

The Twins got lucky this series in that they get Sanchez and don't have to face Verlander. As good as Fister has been, the Twins have beat him twice this year.

Greinke and Sanchez (and AJ Burnett on the other side) are showing just how much better the American League is.
I don't think it's even close.
