Lance Berkman has cartilage damage in his left knee

Lance Berkman‘s right knee has him on the DL. The other day we learned that his left knee is bothering him too.  Though it was originally reported that it was just “soreness” and that there was no damage, an MRI has revealed cartilage damage.

Joe Strauss has a good story about what Berkman faces now. And how there’s a very good chance that, even if he contributes in a limited role down the stretch this year, his career could soon be over.

Five knee surgeries will do that.

It’s a miracle that Beltran didn’t join him on the DL after that nasty collision. Might be time for Berkman to hang it up though, he already had one Cinderella season, but Father Time is still undefeated.

Seems likely. Too bad; he’s a great guy and at one time was an OPS machine.

I hope he’ll at least get his final game to say goodbye and get the standing ovation he deserves. It would even better if it could be against Houston

    He still has knees?

No Matt Adams either in September, surgery to remove bone chips from his elbow has ended his season so 1B depth/flexibility isn’t going to get any better.
