Gee, ya think? think back about the so-called Killer B’s and some other hyped players, such as Jesus Montero, not quite what everyone thought he’d be. It’s still early in Montero’s career, but I really think he was overrated, just sayin.

A couple of starts at most but Phelps is going to start tonight. Lowe will pitch if needed in a no risk long-man role. If he’s good it is a plus. If not they release him. I think it is a no risk gamble. The same as if they brought us someone from the minors, like they’ve done for years. As a commenter above stated – maybe there’s no one in the minors to bring up. They tried Igarashi yesterday and he last two innings and they shipped him out today for Lowe.

I’m not following the Yankees that closely, but I do follow the Red Sox, especially members of the 2004 edition, closely. And combined with the Darnell McDonald signing, I just don’t understand what they’re doing, given that they’re in first place. It’s like they have 85 percent of their team exactly how they like it and are wildly rotating through pieces for that last 15 percent.

I’d laugh, but the Braves had Livan Hernandez on their roster this season.

So instead I’ll cry, because I think this means the Braves are paying Lowe to pitch for the Yankees.

There’s been this really weird thing going on this season with the Yankees signing a lot of cast-offs. It doesn’t seem to hurt the club, but it makes me wonder if there isn’t a shortage of quality at Triple A this year.
