It’s meant to be absurd. Just like it’s absurd that a 37-year-old is putting up prime time numbers – and is showing no signs of slowing down.

At least if it were, say Wakefield (who never had a season like Dickey’s) or Phil Niekro or someone like that – there would have been a considerable track record already established at age 37 in order to determine how to proceed in setting a price and receiving value and making all parties feel giddy about the deal.

We’re kind of witnessing uncharted territory here.

Also are the Met’s a couple of moves and year away from contending? Or are they, say 2-3 years down the line . . . and how does Dickey fit into that?

Not an easy situation for Alderson to be in.
