Now if he could cut down on his strikeouts a little bit – except for that one huge two-homer, four hit monster game last week, the Iron Giant’s been mostly all-or-nothing since he came back from his knee surgery. Prior to the knee acting up on him he was drawing walks and piling up singles and doubles and his average was approaching .300 pretty quickly. Here’s hoping he gets his timing back soon enough to make the last couple of homestands at Macondo Banana Massacre Field more interesting than the rest of his misbegotten team are going to make them.

It’s pretty clear where it landed, and it didn’t hit a wall or anything, so it should be pretty easy to establish a firm measurement. Prince Fielder hit one last night that almost made it to the concourse in right field at Comerica Park. I couldn’t tell if it hit the top of the wall or the fence or the fans before bouncing back into the bushes. It was a mammo for sure.
