You’d be correct, except for the 14 other times a lefty has won the AL CY Award.

Weaver’s chance of winning the Cy Young pretty much died last night. And as much as it pains this life long Angels fan to say it – any hope of them making the playoffs are pretty much dead too. Damn.

Gee, a few weeks ago after the Greinke acquisition more than one expert said the Angels had to be considered the favorite to win the World Series.
The Angels may still get to the World Series but they will have to pay $150 per ticket and can purchase no more than four tickets per customer. The $150 does not include ticketmaster surcharges.

DJ, or anyone else have any idea what happens if multiple teams tie for the final WC spot? For instance, right now there’s three teams (Det, Bal and TB) all tied for 2 spots. Do we get a round robin playin for the right to playin the WC game? We’re getting eerily close to the Kenny Mayne line:
So, if the Beers beat Detroit and Denver beats Atlanta in the American Southwestern Division East Northern, then Milwaukee goes to the Denslow Cup, unless Baltimore can upset Buffalo and Charlotte ties Toronto, then Oakland would play LA and Pittsburgh in a blind choice round robin. And if no clear winner emerges from all of this, a two-man sack race will be held on consecutive Sundays until a champion can be crowned.

Got to see the only two decent games they played this week (Tues and Wed against Indians). Even then, the bullpen gave up late runs in each game. Isringhausen and Takahashi probably need to be DFA’d this week. Neither one can get batters out reliably. Haren and Santana will be looking for new teams this winter. Serious disappointments from the pitching staff since the all-star break. It’s getting to be Jim Mora time discussing playoffs around the OC.
