I’d be stunned if Farrell leaves for Boston and I’d be even more stunned if the Jays were crazy enough to name Vizquel their manager. I know it can work out, but I’m still really leery of bringing in a former player with no managerial experience. And this club needs some stability in the manager role…this turnover every 2-3 years is getting old.

Time for something radical from Anthopolous. I think it is pretty clear that the Red Sox realize that Bobby Valentine was the wrong choice for manager, so Toronto allows Farrell out of his contract to go back to Boston in exchange for a decent young Boston roster player. Then Toronto names Omar Vizquel as their new manager.

Haven’t had too much to cheer about this half of the season: injuries, losing a lot, watching The AAA guys strike out, Romero getting tattooed, the poor run production etc. It will be nice to have our slugger back on the field, at any level. Lawrie’s due back soon, as is Morrow & Arencebia has his cast off and is taking some catches. Its like Getting The Band Back Together. Really looking forward to that day, even if it might not be till next season for all of them.

Farrell’s got some problems, roster wise: what to do with Sierra & Cooper? Neither one can play 2nd, from where Johnson really needs to be sent to someone else’s team, the outfield looks great with Davis, Rasmus & JB. E5 has 1st & DH, so I guess one of Sierra or Cooper can rotate with him. McCoy’s bench spot can be used for one of them, but that blocks their development….I dunno? What to do with those guys? The rest of The AAA Guys need to go back to AAA and figure out how to hit baseballs, though.

For a change, the Bullpen looks almost decent. Starting pitching…not so much, but Morrow will help there. Anthopolous has some work to do this off season.
