For $1 Million I would take steroids! Where else can you get that money and still roll the dice for another million or two? After all he is not a brain surgeon and at his age, you can’t expect him to have more than a year or two. After the agent and tax man he still gets 585,000 this year. Finds a good dividend portfolio of stocks and gets $41.000 before capital gains. Which one of you wouldn’t do the same thing?

Cur-just got back from the park. Barely a whisper about El Capitan’s malfeasance. More about Milone going 8 for the. win, with AJ Griffin coming back soon and Dan Straily eligible to come back from AAA, the A’s pitching will be ok, just not as much fun. It’s all going to be about the offense.

For the record, the A’s, with their Sept schedule, will have and would have had a very tough road to the playoffs, despite their “feel good” story so far.

Fair enough. I didn’t follow him closely in Boston, I just know his slugging percentage has jumped over 160 points in two years, his HR rate is up, and he looks huge. I guess I should just lay off since I don’t follow him enough to make an educated observation, and was merely looking at a phsyical appearance and one statistic. You win that one.

So after everything we’ve been through with Bonds, McGuire, Clemmons, the new protocol is to allow people to cheat as long as they sit out 50 games after they’re caught and they admit to cheating? So we are accepting that there’s dozens of other steroid users around major league baseball? They should just do like the NFL and just not test and accept it, that would be better than pretending to care about the integrity of baseball.

Yes, absolutely test Martin because anyone can see he is having a career year at the plate, and test Granderson because if he keeps striking out as much as he does I may hire him as a ceiling fan. oh and just for laughs…A-Rods admission of steroid use covers the period BEFORE he was with the Yankees.

Can anyone fill me in? In these cases, while the player is completing their suspension, are they required to remain on the 40-man roster? Or can the team rearrange their roster to adjust for the suspended player and replace them as needed? Just curious.

Except the commissioner can’t just make up rules like that without the players getting involved, as the game is subject to a CBA. It’s why it took so long for MLB to actually get drug testing approved, because anything they wanted to do the players had to agree to it.

Na, I dont think Josh Reddick. The guy always had 30 home run power in the Sox system, he just figured to be too strike out prone and not patient enough to take walks. I think of him like a Jeff Francour, he’ll have a great year or two then the league will figure him out. Hell, his OBP isn’t even .320 now and his batting average is below .250

Um, did you mean to reply to my comment? Because I didn’t say anything about whether or not drugs enhance performance, much less how they do so or by how much. All I said was it’s silly to try to tell just by looking at someone’s build whether or not they’re using drugs to try to enhance their performance. As illustrated by the fact that Colon is both a testosterone user and fat.

I look forward to a reply that actually has something to do with what I said.
