It shouldn't be hard to get to the bottom of this. If he told someone he was injured, he would have been referred to someone in the health care field. Did this happen? If yes, then presumably there is someone known to the Phils who can vouch for Schwimer's claim. If he didn't raise the subject or see the issue warranting a visit, then presumably he was healthy within the meaning of the player's agreement. This is not nor should it be a 'he said/he said' situation.

It has nothing to do with whether the Phils or fans like or don't like the work that Schwimer has done to date. There are some really strange comments posted here.

Oh boy. Aumont on the roster. No concept of the strike zone. This looks like another great move proving that the Phillies favor players from outside the org for promotion.

And Schwimer has ticked off the front office. He's probably thrown his last major league pitch as a Phillie. He will be fine as a middle inning reliever within a year. It just won't be in Philadelphia.

Meanwhile, we get to watch a new guy in the bullpen who will average a walk per inning. Good times.

Nobody knows the truth but I kind of think he has some validity to his argument. The beat writers keep saying they really like his stuff and he could potentially be an 8th inning guy. Phillies fans also know that Amaro and Manuel keep talking about having to keep putting these guys in tough situations to see how they handle it so they can have a better idea of what they have for next season. So, if he is one of the few relievers they have who's stuff they like and they need to keep giving these guys experience, why would they send him down during the prime time they have to test these guys? I know a guy was coming back from maternity leave but there isn't anyone on this team who could have been sent down instead, or maybe even just released to open the roster spot? Ohh, and despite his bad overall numbers he has been pitching well the last few weeks so again, why send him down now? Smells fishy....

I'm reminded of Brandon Guyer in this situation. The guy lent his truck to Matt Bush in spring training, who then gets drunk, and runs a guy over. He then gets a lawsuit filed against him for $5 million. He posts a 1.000 OPS in spring training, and still gets sent down. The Rays then sign Hideki Matsui to compete with him at AAA in left field. Then he tears something, and is out for the season.

Ready for the good news? He had been called up for 2 days when he got hurt. 7 plate appearances gets him $400,000 instead of $70,000 (or whatever minimums are).

Also. This Sox - Halos game is freaking crazy!!!
