Drug teasing programs are all run in two parts. The first part is a screen. Lots of things can cause a false positive screen. It’s only real purpose is to narrow down how many confirmatory test have to be done. The confirmation test is gas chromatography and mass spectrometry, which is absolutely accurate, ie no false positive at all. The tests are not reported until the confirmation test is run.

I know they likely got a secondary test after the initial positive, but a lot of otc meds will test positive for meth. Word of caution ask your pharmacist, my acid reflux meds are a generic and will cause a false positive for meth.

I wonder why they didn’t simply call it a “drug of abuse.”

When players are caught using “drugs of abuse,” do they have to go through counselling or rehab or anything? The Joint Drug Prevent and Treatment Program seems like a waste if they don’t also try to get these guys help. If they get help, does this extend to the MiLB players, too?
