From Gregor Chisholm of MLB.com comes word that Blue Jays slugger Jose Bautista was pulled from Saturday night’s game against the Orioles after experiencing more discomfort in his left wrist.

Yes, the same wrist that forced him to the disabled list on July 17 and kept him there until August 24.

The Blue Jays will reevaluate Bautista after the game and again on Sunday morning before deciding whether he needs to be placed back on the shelf.

The 31-year-old drew a walk and scored a run before making his premature departure. He’s batting .241/.358/.527 with 27 home runs and 65 RBI through 399 plate appearances this season for Toronto.

UPDATE, 10:55 PM: Gregor Chisholm of MLB.com reports that “Joey Bats” has been placed back on the 15-day disabled list. He is obviously in danger of being shut down for the remainder of the 2012 season.

Roids? was someone talking about the Yankees here?

  2. proudlycanadian - Aug 25, 2012 at 8:45 PM

Curses! He probably hurt the wrist on a foul ball prior to the walk. Not sure if Gose will be recalled. Lind might be brought up immediately from his rehab assignment.

    • proudlycanadian - Aug 26, 2012 at 9:04 AM

Bautista to DL and Lind has been called up a day early from his rehab stint. Sierra will play in right field.

who cares proudly? They are in LAST PLACE brother!! Nobody and i mean NOBODY cares!! There is no future for this organization period!!

As you can see PC, harry’s wrong as usual. He says no one cares? Well clearly HE cares. He follows us TO fans around like a love-sick teenager: all acne and attitude, hopping up and down, flinging his filth, hoping we’ll like him. Poor confused lil feller…one day he’ll get a life and go support his own team.

      • proudlycanadian - Aug 26, 2012 at 7:31 PM

Harry tends to behind a tad in his comments. This is not surprising as on another since deceased site, one of the screen names he used was Dr. Bendover. Harry, or Herbie as we came to know him back then, has a few unsolvable problems.

      • cur68 - Aug 26, 2012 at 7:33 PM

Being unforgivably stupid is certainly an unsolvable problem, all right.

Wow, Blue Jays almost went 48 hours without an injury!

I know. It has been a sickening season.

I said the day he got hurt, the wrist is the most complicated joint in the body. This ain’t good news. Sorry to hear it.

More importantly, what the hell is with Colby Rasmus’ hair??

Wait til you see Josh Reddicks hair… looks like a drowned muskrat

    • jaysjunkie - Aug 25, 2012 at 11:22 PM

I didn’t think Rasmus could have a worse hair style than that dead beaver pelt haircut he had before…until now. Never been a fan much of a fan of the guy and his act has worn REAL thin for me. What did he have, like 3 more K’s tonight? Brutal. Other than a strong month and half or so earlier this season, this guy has been a bust.

As far as Bautista, I agree that they should seriously consider just shutting him down. The season was lost a month ago.

Hey boys. Some losing streak, eh? This makes 7 in a row. Zounds. Between the Little League Defence, the non-clutch bullpen work, another injury (or the same injury re-visited) we had a pretty nice start for Morrow. Mid to upper 90’s heater, super banana shaped bendy pitches, and slippery slider.

As for Rasmus’s hair…yeah, the Dead Beaver Pelt Do was WAY better than the “CornRowedSouthernLad” look he had there. Supposed to be a slump buster I guess. Here’s my thinking: when in a funk do something that makes you feel or look better. DO NOT do something to make yourself look like an utter prat and make you even more uncomfortable with the scrutiny. Can you imagine what Tony LaRussa would have said? He’d have tried to shave the kid’s head with a Lousiville Slugger is what. Kids these days.

  6. jaysjunkie - Aug 26, 2012 at 2:33 AM

Lol @ “prat”. I love the Brits and their slang…not something you usually see on here. Rasmus, despite his shitty play, has actually become a pretty popular player on the team. I don’t get it myself…the guy has no personality and kinda creeps me out. Um, have I hammered on him enough for one post?

  7. sean222 - Aug 26, 2012 at 8:56 AM

Thanks again home run derby. Every year, the derby takes one or two players from the game due to wrist, back, ankle, shoulder or any other swinging injury. This year happens to be Bautista. Please don’t play in the derby next year, fella.
