Actually I would say Reynolds has really found himself at first defensively. He was a total mess at the hot corner, but he’s really settled in across the diamond. I don’t have any stats to back that up, but I basically watch every game and he’s been making alot of solid to good plays over the past month. Where as Davis seems to have the tools, but not the concentration.

I’m very excited for this pick up I feel as tho a solid vet arm is what we were missing it’s not a flashy pick up but smart in the sense of eating innings and helping the young arms

they all have better offenses then what he was facing in the NL, thats not my opinon thats a fact

Actually Reynolds is a better defensive first base than Davis. Once he settled down, Reynolds has been at least average if not better than average. At his best Davis is mediocre at first base. I like this pickup for the O’s. Duquette and buck have been very busy shuffling the roster with small low risk moderat return type of transactions. Look at the pickup of quinteilla at second base. He is better than andino has been at least respectable with his bat and has allowed andino to go back to the role he is best suited for, that of super sub where he can play almost any position respectably but is not counted upon to play every day. If buck showalter doesn’t win manager of the year in the AL and duque tater doesn’t at least get a sniff as gm of the year, it is a real travesty

He isn’t a better hitter. Reynolds has a much higher walk rate and P/PA. Reynolds knows the strike zone and has trouble making contact, Davis just has trouble making contact.

Hitter absolutely, but how can you say he is better at 1B? Don’t you think Buck would have Davis playing 1B with Reynolds DHing, if he was better? But I know you probably know more about baseball than Buck.

Yes. Davis is substantially better than Reynolds in not only 1B defense but all around (avg, hr’s, less E’s, less K’s, etc.). There’s no justification in why we’d keep Reynolds there at all. Please prove me wrong since apparently you’re the ONLY one on the other side of the fence (including analysts, reporters, radio hosts etc.)

Davis is a better 1B any way you slice the numbers and he’s certainly a better hitter.

He has been a lot better this season then people have given credit for, however, Buck has pretty much been keeping him out of any situation where the game is on the line. Maybe it was just the pressure getting to him.

gregg has actually been pretty reliable this season. his performance last season was atrocious but he has done very well in nearly every appearance ive seen of him this year

I approve. Like Lindstrom a lot but we have a solid BP (minus Gregg) and with Matusz filling the void I can be at peace with this.
