I remember a display on field hospitals – carnage collection zones, really, given that your average battle during that war yielded more per capita casualties than any war until the WWI trench battles. Reading about the Feather Lice this season has consistently reminded me of that display, with all the amputations being the only thing missing. I can’t ever remember such a snakebitten team.

They mentioned on the telecast tonight that a guy on the Rays had the same injury late last season, only rehabbed it over the off season, and then reinjured it earlier this year and missed 90-something games after he had to have surgery. Bautista talked to him and I’m sure that the player’s (can’t remember the name) experience was instrumental in his and the Jays’ decision for surgery. Who’d have thought that anyone or anything related to the Rays, who have kicked our asses for way too long, would actually be of benefit to the Jays?

Almost exactly 3 years it turns out. Personally, I always expected his lower back or oblique to give up. Turns out its his left wrist that packs it in. JB’s defied the odds and become an elite slugger when it appeared his career was going to be barely footnote worthy. He’s not only got to rehab that wrist but also re-vamp that swing. Looks like he’s gotta defy the odds again. Good luck, bro.

They should have taken every precaution and performed every test (I don’t know if they did or didn’t). Comparative tests could’ve have been done initially, too (again, I don’t know what procedures were done).

In his latest round of testing, MRI’s were taken of both wrists for a comparison. I assume that by having a MRI of the healthy wrist, it was evident that the other wrist still had a problem.
