I heard that too, PC. It was reported during the game. In fact Martinez and Tabler described the conversation between to the two in detail for almost a full inning. Fuld apparently DID call Bautista to talk to him about his own injury. They are seeing the same specialist in wrist injuries.

At least he went on the DL. If this was the Twins, he would have been day-to-day for a week, then would play through the injury, all while being lauded for gutting it out even though he’d be hitting .150.

Sam Fuld had the same problem last year and elected to rehab it. Fuld rehurt his wrist this spring and had to have surgery. Fuld got in touch with Bautista and shared his experiences with him.

Idiocy. Does the onus of this lie solely on the Jays? I think not. Maybe if “Joey Bats” wasn’t so concerned about padding his own numbers, he could have seen the writing on the wall – the Jays were never a pretender, much less a real contender. If he gave a damn about the team he’d have looked at having the wrist repaired after the second injury AT THE LATEST. Self-serving jag-off.
