Dave Flemming just mentioned this news on the Giants’ radio broadcast, so I jumped over here to see if there was a mention of it. For this the rivalry gets put aside: I also hope Kenley will recover quickly and can compete again at full strength very soon.

Flo Hyman had Marfan Syndrome. It’s a genetic defect that adversely affects connective tissue strength, resulting in a number of problems including a tendency towards developing aneurysms. A ruptured aneurysm killed Flo Hyman.

Manley Jansen has one or more foci of abnormal heart rhythms. He underwent a radioablation last year and may need another. He also has to avoid caffeine and may require medication to help regulate his heartbeat. Fortunately there’s been nothing to indicate possible Marfan or structural abnormalities of the heart.
