Craig’s “make believe conversation” was an entertaining bit to this piece that probably made many people chuckle. Also, it wasn’t without merit – Craig includes in there a line that speaks to how the public perception of Clemens speaks louder than his career stats.

If you’re looking for something a little more hard hitting, fly to Syria and tell me how it turns out for you. Until then, take a xanax and chilllll ouuttttt.

Most importantly, Clemens’ peak dominates Ryan’s. Of the 9 best fWAR seasons between the two, Clemens owns 8 of them.

Clemens has two 20K games. There have been 3 in the history of the game. That is a more impressive accomplishment in my mind.

Implying that Ryan is infinitely more likeable than Clemens, but not as excellent of a pitcher, can hardly be considered a slam.

The only problem with this statement is that they were almost identical in most every conceivable measure…Clemens has the narrowest of margins in most (Career ERA = 3.12 vs 3.19 for instance)…but he also lags in other areas…Career SO/9 has Nolan almost 1 K higher (0.9 diff)…Nolan’s only real issue was his walk rate…his opponent BA was lower which ended up compensating so that Clemen’s career WHIP is only 0.07 lower than Nolan’s…but people remember no-hitters too…Nolan has 7…Clemens has zip…zilch…nada…steroids apparently didn’t help that stat…

So don’t sweat the underhanded shots by Craig…he’s always trying to rile up the Ranger fans…

With the way things are in Boston this year, probably not…
