I agree. His biggest strike against him is pitching in the launch pad that is the Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. The fact that he’s done so well there is amazing in it’s own right. Of course it doesn’t hurt to have the best offense in baseball backing him up too. I don’t really think the post season will be his ultimate judge but man if he does well it will definitely help.

I’d say this article should’ve been more about the pitchers duel, and the money they paid for him compares to the mine LA wasted on Wilson he’s a veteran and getting paid, this guys a rookie.

Dice-K version 2.0. Inefficient pitcher with terrible walk rate. His first season is similar to Dice-K’s first season; hopefully for Darvish the similarity will stop there.

I would say for the money the Rangers paid for him, he has been a disappointment. However so are most players recently receiving big contracts so theres that. He has great potential, but I haven’t seen anything close to an ace out of him this season; maybe he improves and maybe he won’t, we shall see.

I’d say that for his first season in the big leagues, starting in the AL and playing his home games in a hitters park, its been a pretty successful first season. The real question is whether or not he can focus on bringing his walks down, if he can do that he could be a #2 starting pitcher. Which is very good for his salary.
