I'm sorry, in the first sentence, I meant to say "two 7-RBI-games in one season was only..." Whoops.

This site needs an edit function.

Although, then I guess people could erase the boneheaded comments they make after getting railed by the rest of the baseball community.... so nevermind. Carry on.

It's interesting to note that, until Cody Ross in 2006, 7 RBI games were only achieved by all time greats, and many years earlier. Look at those names - Lou Gehrig, Babe Ruth, Jimmie Foxx, Ralph Kiner... and it hadn't been done since Kiner in '50 and '51. Now, we have had four players in the last six years accomplish this achievement, and none are putting together anywhere close to HOF careers.

No, I'm not going on some rant about how the integrity of baseball is ruined, and I'm certainly not stating any relation to PED's. It's just an oddity of the game that can't be ignored - that it appears more players are popping up with outstanding nights in what is otherwise mundane individual season performances.

Good old K-Rod. Second opportunity of the season to increase his trade value, and he sucks the tailpipe both times.

I would not be surprised (though I don't expect it) if the Brewers just release Rodriguez today and let anyone else fight for him. The Brewers can't give him the ball any more.

And a word of warning to all you GMs out there. Remember back in December, Rodriguez was only tendered to increase compensation when he was expected to leave as a free agent. Backfire.
