It’s hard to say he is injury prone: He got got smoked by Adrian Beltre and broke his ribs. He had a SS fall on top of his shoulder while he was stretched out for the bag (which is basically like a piece of wood stretched across two saw horses and getting chopped in the middle). He’s not a JD Drew: hammy pull, neck is stiff, forearm strain, calf is tight. That’s injury prone. Ellsbury plays hard all the time. Ellsbury first full year he hit 280ish, his second full season he hit .300, then the Beltre collision, and in the 3rd full season he had the monster year. The guy has been trending up (in his 3 full seasons). He is a good friggin player. That genius move in 2010 to move him to LF by Epstein costed him a season (even though he was clearly the best CF). He will have a great year next year. Unfortunately Boras is going to pimp him out to the highest bidder. Boras must have wet himself

A lot of my fellow Red Sox fans have been talking for a couple of years that Ellsbury’s going to look for a Carl Crawford contract. I say, let somebody else give him that money. I love watching him play, but if the power’s not repeatable (and I don’t think it is), ain’t no way he deserves superstar money.
