Looks like they found a loophole. San Diego under the Moorad ‘ownership’ had tried to get a local community, Escondido, to host the Padres AAA club until that 2011 edict made it impossible. Would have made the travel to/from a virtual taxi drive.

No way to predict how this will turn out, as this is an internal administrative review in Sacramento and San Jose, and I’ve seen nothing about this on Ramses’ page yet.

Oakland City officials did have a “rally” for Oakland earlier this week, which attracted 11 corporate entities, not all of whom have made a profit. Compare this to the 75 companies that sent Selig a letter supporting the A’s attempt to move to SJ. Those companies are worth $ 3 trillion a year. That pretty much summarizes why the A’s prefer San Jose. And also why San Jose would like to have the A’s.
