Heard on the local radio yesterday that back when the Nats first came to DC Frank Robinson said HR’s would go up in late August because of the high humidity. That Robinson guy knows what he is talking about. lol

I was surprised at how well the ball was flying off their bats. Harper’s 1st and Laroche’s both didn’t look like they would be dingers off the bat. This team is so entertaining that I watched this game over the Cowboys Giants game last night

News flash: since the AS break, Strasburg has only been the FOURTH best pitcher on the Nats. The guy replacing him in the rotation was the team’s leader in wins a year ago. With their lineup healthy, they don’t even need their pitchers to be dominent.

Having attended a lot of games at Nats Park, there seems to be quite a bit of variance as to how well the ball travels on any given night. Last night, there was no wind whatsoever, but watching batting practice we could tell the balls were jumping off the hitters’ bats. It carried through during the game as a couple of the dingers were long fly balls that just never seemed to come down.

Not Harper’s though. Both of his were screaming line drives.
